About
Jeremy Ocampo, also known as southsonata, is a Manila based (Alabang) contemporary photographer who's work primarily focuses in black and white photography.
His recent work emphasizes minimalist studio photography. He focuses on clean, simple compositions with carefully posed subjects. His approach highlights elegance through simplicity and attention to detail. His earlier work was more focused on street photography and fleeting moments, incorporating elements of abstract light and shadow, high contrast, and silhouettes.
His earlier work was also featured on various instagram featuring pages such as The Streephers, Supreme Street, Street Photography Globally, The Street Rover, Street Avengers, Street Minimalism, Contraste Paris, Scatto Minimal and, Eye Photo Magazine.
Jeremy also founded a street photography featuring page called Street Photography Manila, a page that features Filipino Street Photography. He created this featuring page in the hopes of building a community and presenting to the world how talented filipinos are in the art of street photography. Today, the page has accumulated over 5,100 followers and has at least 15 daily account tags submissions and 50,939 hashtag submissions.
Aside from Street Photography, he also has been working as a Digical Content Specialist in Servicio Filipino Inc., while doing photography and motion graphics editing on the side. His freelance work is mainly focused on portraits, product photography, food photography, and 2D motion graphics. Local Filipino brands he has worked with include Frankie General Store, Bien by Tracy, AtelierTrisque, CaterFAAB, Hello Furry, Mamam Co, and many more. As for video editing and production, he has worked with local and international companies, instagram personalities, and non-profit organizations namely, The Eurospeak Podcast, Ateneo European Studies Department, March Eusebio (Youtube), and DLSU GreenMediaGroup, Pusod Inc., Zalora Philippines, Marketing Practices Australia, and realme Philippines.
